Underworld Kingdom progress

Another report from work on the PDF. Things added during last week:
  • One new monster (Corpse Boar);
  • Stats and descriptions of six unique demon types (one new added and I don't think that there will be more of them);
  • Descriptions of ten of thirteen main deities are done;
  • Ideas about six minor deities or demi-gods;
  • 4 new spells;
  • Eight unique spells (out of 26) for the followers of the Thirteen Gods;
  • 25 magic items.
As you can see, I'm not very good at spells and magic - mr. Wight helped me alot with it and I'm really happy that it slowly comes to end. I want to focus on description of both of the campaign "worlds" but if I don't complete chapter about gods and magic before starting anothe one I know that it will be left unfinished for weeks or maybe even months.

Next part next thursday.

    Answering Barking Alien's questions...

    Another good survey. Maybe it's time to post my own questions? :D

    1) What is the most common type of environment or terrain encountered thus far in your current or most recent campaign?

    Cavern. Huge one. Really huge part of Underworld Wilderness.

    2) What is the most exotic or unusual environment or terrain encountered thus far in your current or most recent campaign?

    Forest of huge, eight-meter-tall psilocybes :D

    3) What environment or terrain type have you never used but always wanted to? Why haven't you?

    Jungle Cave (dinosaur-filled cavern in the jungle). Why I've never used it? Because PCs hadn't reached it yet :-(

    4) Do you have a combat rule or mechanic from another game system you are using in the game system you currently play, played recently or generally play?

    Warhammer-style hit locations used in Call of Cthulhu game.

    5) In your opinion, what genre has received too little attention in regards to RPGs based on that subject?

    Science Fantasy, Sword&Planet. Or maybe there are too little games of that genres.

    6) If a quality RPG on the aforementioned neglected genre came out tomorrow, what would make you buy it? What would prevent you from buying it?

    Its genre will force me to buy it immediately! I can't wait to get Planet Algol and Warriors of the Red Planet :D And what prevents me from buying Carcosa? Lack of money - it's rather expensive for me (printed version - PDF is too huge to print it :D)

    7) Do you find it easier to learn the rules of a game by reading the rule book or by sitting down and just playing it?

    Little of both - usually I read most important rules and go play - rest can be learned / figured out during game.

    8) Name a currently available artist not normally associated with RPGs who you'd love to see do some RPG work.

    Rodney Matthews, but I know that it won't happen.

    9) What one book, movie, video, etc. that is not an RPG that you think should be.

    10) Can you think of an RPG you've run or played in which the GM (be it you or someone else) used/referenced non-game related books to run the campaign more often then game related books?

    Yeah, one of my friends from the very beginning of my RPG gaming used to run games based on obscure, B-class movies. Too bad that I've lost my contact with him. And my previous campaign (currently on hold) was in the world based on the books of King, Mieville, Sergey Lukyanenko, Strugatsky brothers, Vampire Hunter D manga and little or no "classic RPG stuff".

    Terminal Space blog is closed now

    It's done. I've closed Terminal Space blog. It's still available at the old adress, but I've stripped it from all bullshit and irrelevant posts. Any news, additional stuff and creative content in general will be reposted here within next week(s). I will also create page containing all Terminal Space-related downloads and links to other blogs / sites containing additional stuff for my supplement.

    If you have some other ideas about it, drop me a comment.

    Underworld Day...

    Probably the last one Underworld Day related to DeviantArt artists - next pics (if any) will be connected to "random spawns" found on Google, or insolently ripped from Subterranean Design :D

    Megadungeon design (preview)

    Quick and simple idea - create megadungeon maps by copying / pasting / modifying plans of castles, churches, cathedrals and monasteries! This is only a preview of what can be created this way:

    I'll try to complete it, post it and try to describe as many rooms as possible :D

    Underworld Kingdom game report #2

    Quick report from today's game:
    • I decided to save life of previous PCs (one player who went home earlier could save them - none of the characters was dead - all was just unconscious - rules about it can be found here).
    • Party sold two stinking chain mails looted from bandits and hired five new meatshields: Apti (female L1 Fighting Woman), Gith (one-eyed drunkard), Gork (fiddler!), Ong (deeply retarded shield bearer; once well-known poet, but his brain was destroyed by veneral disease) and Meur (young but well-equipped gambler).
    • Atus got some strange and nasty veneral disease (effect of carousing table - I don't remember who made it :-( ).
    • Party got info about some ancient graveyard west of the city of Aglor and went to search for it, especially that they had one 'little debt' to pay (some said that Necromancer was involved in it).
    • Before party managed to reach the graveyard they were ambushed by a lone troll. After long and hard fight, in which Ong's head was bitten of and chewed (his body later ran away like beheaded chicken), Gith hit monster with a large frog (!) and Atus was almost killed, party managed to kill the monster.
    Sorry for my strange and crippled English today, but I'm rather tired :D

    About Terminal Space blog...

    For some time I think what to do with my first blog, dedicated to my Sci-Fi Old School supplement - Terminal Space. As you can see, keeping two blogs at the same time is not good idea - one of them is rather dead and nothing indicates that it will change in the future. My work on Terminal Space is done and now it's time for others to create additional stuff for it.

    So now I'm considering closing that blog - not necessarily killing it outright, but rather merging its content with this blog - I'll repost all creative posts about Terminal Space here and put there links leading to Underworld Kingdom blog. I'm afraid that now - mostly due to the inactivity of the 'official Terminal Space website' project may be wieved as dead or inactive.

    About additional materials for Terminal Space - remember to check out Hereticwerks and Sword & Stitchery for new, awesome TS resources!
    (and drop me a message if you know some other blogs / websites with Terminal Space stuff)
